You may have noticed a new ad on the digital billboard at the corner of Gervais and Harden today. If you know my patterns, you’re aware that I love this board! I like it for a few reasons: 1) It’s about 10 blocks from my house. 2) It’s five blocks from Coldwell Banker-Midtown. 3) Given my history/relationship with Columbia traffic lights, I’m convinced the downtown workforce gets stopped by the light, and is forced to sit through at least one full rotation of the six images. Reason #3 is why I think it’s the most popular billboard in downtown Columbia, SC.
The folks at Lamar Advertising know I enjoy showcasing downtown listings on this corner. That said, when Lamar has a contractual gap of rotating clientele, they give me a call. When the sales rep called Wednesday, I said “Let’s go!” Amy whipped up the artwork (from the beach) and BOOM, a few listings are in lights for a little while.
As clients know I’m always striving for opportunities to maximize exposure of our listings. Securing this billboard from time to time is an example of a little extra effort.
