In case you haven’t heard (or read) in the past week or so, Eggs Up Grill is taking the spot that was formerly Momo’s Bistro on Devine Street.
This probably isn’t breaking news to downtown folks, as there’s been a lot of chatter about Eggs Up coming to Devine Street for a while now. The Momo’s vacancy is likely the catalyst sealed the deal.
Earlier in the week I texted one of the partners for permission to blog about the new venture but he asked me to hold off. I obviously honored his request and am only typing about it now because the news hit The State Newspaper today. The building lease was inked last week.
Well done (if that’s a pun, please pardon haha) to partner, Drew Hampton. If you know Drew he has a knack for this business. Moreover, and perhaps more importantly, he is a king of customer service. Just go to his Groucho’s Deli store on Forest Drive to experience first hand what I’m talking about.
In other news, blue chip mortgage originator and six star recruit, Carter Weston has joined Michael Eden’s team at downtown powerhouse lender Southern First Bank. This news won’t hit the public eye quite like Eggs Up Grill coming to Devine St, or Café Caturra being replaced, but to the real estate/mortgage world it’s a big deal. Congratulations to Southern First and Carter Weston!
