Thursday and Friday of last week a few families convoyed to the beach and had a blast of a weekend.
We usually do this as an adults-only getaway, but I threw it out there to Jennifer, “Why don’t the kids come this year?” I don’t want to speak for anyone, but I thought it was a ton of fun and am ready to do it again.
We stayed at “Black Magic,” which is owned by my in-laws Jeff and Stephanie Black. Whenever anyone asks, “Where did y’all go?” I usually respond, “I don’t know….somewhere between Murrell’s and Myrtle.”
I just looked it up and Black Magic is in “Long Bay Estates.”
Wherever it technically is, the timing of the trip usually allows us to enjoy watching hundreds of horses stroll up and down the beach for all three days. At night, we almost always cook dinner and hit Tupelo Honey for lunch on Saturdays (see last pic above).
This time we all got to watch the exciting drama of the LSU-Alabama match-up and then had to jump around and smash stuff and YELL OUR FACES INSIDE OUT AT A TV (in a house called “Black Magic,” mind you) as the Gamecocks lost to App State. :/
