Most of us enjoy giving back to our community every way we’re able, and we do our part where we can. Some do it by donating time and/or talents to civic organizations, some are active within church families, and some coach youth athletic teams. Have you ever wanted to be a monetary philanthropist? Me too. Well, here’s our chance!
The Central Carolina Community Foundation has made this possible by setting up the inaugural Midlands Day of Giving. They are calling it Midlands Gives.
Here’s the rub: On May 6, 2014, Central Carolina Community Foundation will present the Midlands first regional day of giving. Midlands Gives will bring the region together as one community, raising as much money and awareness as possible for Midlands nonprofits during the 24-hour online giving challenge. Contributions for Midlands Gives will benefit your favorite causes and organizations right here in the Midlands. A gift to any of the participating nonprofit organizations in our 11-county service area will go further this day thanks to generous sponsors and contributors who are providing prize incentives and a bonus pool.
Here’s the thing. To put it in college terms, this is Philanthropy-101 with a Graduate Level reach. In short, no matter the level of our contributions (only $20 bucks is the min), they’ve constructed it in a way so as to magnify/maximize the impact around the Midlands. #WinWin
This all said, if you can find a few seconds to fill out some simple info, please consider participating in this event. Simply choose your favorite cause, click a few buttons, and BOOM!… you’re a giver.
Just a note: The Junior League of Columbia is listed under the Community Improvement tab on the right!
Ready… GO.
Thank you!
