The JLC Little Black Dress Initiative!!!

As the Junior League of Columbia’s 2021 The Little Black Dress Initiative comes to an end, I’d like to invite you to be a part of it, right now!

As many of you know, The Junior League of Columbia, in my bias, is the most organized and impactful philanthropic organization in the Midlands. I choose to support JLC because I’ve seen this and I know what they do, and they can decide and stretch funds far better than I could ever do by blindly writing obligatory checks to organizations I don’t know much about. They have a process, and it works, impactfully.

If you’re new to this blog you may be wondering why this dude is vouching for this particular organization.

Well, my story is over 20 years long and begins with my late wife who was an active member of The League. Kinsey Black Jones was diagnosed with breast cancer in her 20’s. Not wanting to miss her assigned “shifts,” but unable to drive because of the rules of chemotherapy (Doctor’s orders), her friends in The League would scoop her up from our home in Forest Acres so she could participate.

Fast forward a few years and my amazing wife, Jennifer Sparks Jones, who never thought of joining The League, dove in and transformed what is now, “Fund Development,” to a new level that continues to grow and thrive to this day.

Here we are, with decades of stories to tell. I’ve attended my share of shifts, too, and had many good times at fun events along the way.

All that to say, I know this organization on a real and organic level as we have grown together. Please consider clicking this link and looking for someone you may know on the list that is participating in this years’ Little Black Dress Initiative. That said, if you don’t recognize any of the women, I’d encourage you to donate anyway!

Thank you so much for your consideration and if you and or your wife or daughter would like to know more about this amazing place of impact, please reach out and I’m more than happy to share what I know.

Thank you!!!

Franklin Jones
