He’s not perfect, on or off the field. Having said this, Coach Spurrier should leave Garcia on the field for a while, and let him do his thing.
Garcia came off the bench, and went 13 / 20, for 131 yards. He threw for 1 TD, and 1 Int. He also ran for 86 yards for another TD.
The stats aren’t stellar, but they are at least something to work with. Garcia brings skills, and intangibles to the field. First, he has more zip on his ball than Smelley and Beecher. His balls just have more pop to ’em. Second, he has a knack to pushing the ball up the field, not just sideline to sideline. Third, he brings the crowd into the game. Whenever we see No. 5 run to the huddle, the crowd steps it up about 5 notches.
Leave him in, Coach. Let’s see if a little swagger, can lead to a few more touchdowns.
