The Therapy Place gets a good spring cleaning

Families this week were impressed to see the facelift at The Therapy Place due to a full day of volunteering by Keller Williams Palmetto.  Over 30 realtors converged on the space for the company-wide’s annual RED DAY (Renew, Energize, & Donate).  The entire company across the U.S. and Canada participate with one project taking place at The Therapy Place, a local pediatric therapy center.  Realtor volunteers painted therapy rooms, hallways and the preschool that hadn’t been touched in the 10 years since opening the clinic.  Realtors also planted an herb garden and cleaned up the outside play equipment.  One hundred and twenty children attend therapies and the organizations therapeutic preschool each week.

“We experience a lot of wear and tear with so many using the space each week.  It’s amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do to a place.  We have gotten so many positive comments from our families, although not so much interest from the kids,” said Dawn Darby, Executive Director of The Therapy Place.  “We’re beyond grateful to be chosen and for the many hours donated as we could not have done this on our own.”

The Therapy Place is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year with lots of improvements inside and out.   An open house in late summer will commemorate the milestone and open up the new and improved space to the community to say thank you and offer tours.
