It’s World Kindness Day!

In case you missed it, Wednesday was World Kindness Day!

For World Kindness Day, radio station WQED in Pittsburgh, PA encouraged residents to channel Mister Rogers and “express your kindness by showing off your cardigan and sharing it with the world.”

Mr. Rogers got his start on WQED with a show called “The Children’s Corner” in 1966 before the iconic “Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood” became famous.

If you know the personalities of The Neighborhood Company, you’re aware that if nothing else, we are productive, fun, and nice…and we can do cardigans.

Truth told, being nice is a trait of the real estate industry that some forget to their own detriment and their client’s peril. Think about it. Who wants to show a house that’s listed by a known A-hole? No one. I’ve immuned myself to whom the listing agent is, but I know what I know. A house listed by a known meanie hurts the seller.

In the spirit of World Kindness Day, we owned our kindness and wore cardigans on Wednesday.

Where does one lunch on World Kindness Day? Mr. Friendly’s, of course!

World Kindness Day is an international holiday that was formed in 1998 to promote kindness throughout the world. World Kindness Day presents us with the opportunity to reflect upon one of the most important and unifying human principles. On a day devoted to the positive potential of both large and small acts of kindness, try to promote and diffuse this crucial quality that brings people of every kind together.

“It’s A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood!!!”

Love it, thank you, & be nice!

Happy World Kindness Day!!!

History tidbit: While she did not invent the cardigan, Coco Chanel made it popular as she did not like how pulling a sweater over the head treated a woman’s hair. #NowYouKnow 🙂
