Condo’s, or Townhomes? Hmmmm…

This place is just freakin’ cool…

My buddy Stephen took me to Augusta National yesterday. Growing up in Anderson and living in Columbia for so long, it’s odd to most that I’ve never been to The Masters. Well, I have now…and it is beautiful.

One of the most amazing things to me, is not the course itself. I couldn’t believe that such a world famous landmark and immaculate place, is smack dab in the middle of something that looks like Decker Blvd. It seemed like we parked at the former Olive Garden on Decker, walked a few blocks and strolled by the almost vacant strip mall. You know the one. It’s the one with the satellite DMV as its only tenant. The difference is, when we took a left and entered the gates of the course, the whole world changed. When our badges were scanned, we found ourselves in an old southern, green and lush paradise. It was almost odd, but awesome.

Nevertheless, I was impressed with the course. I immediatley began looking for places to put condo’s or townhouses. Of course, I recognize that if I blurted my thoughts out loud, I may find a 3 wood lodged in my nasal cavity, and banned from the area for life.

In all, I enjoyed the day and hope to visit again soon. We are lucky that Columbia is so close to such an event.

Go Tiger….

Good Luck, Coach!

Teen Wolf Seen At Carolina Cup

Amount of LaRoque Dresses Seen? ZERO

GOOD GRIEF!!! My good friend Allison Farrell (girl in pic) decided to surprise me on FaceBook today with this picture. I had to do a double take, actually a triple take. Actually, I had to ask her if it was me.

Judging from the tie and hair (helmet), this pic was taken around ’94-’96. I remember the tie because it’s the one I wore during the monsoon game when USC played East Carolina. I was SO mad that the tie was pretty much ruined in that rain. The stadium was totally flooded. It was awful at the time, but I guess made for a good story. After about a year of drying and flattening out, I wore it a good bit when I ran for the state house in ’96.

The hair makes me shake my head…and wince. I guess my hairline today(in picture on top of page) is a result of using gobs of mousse (WhiteRain, I think) AND AquaNet. If you don’t remember, AquaNet was the equivalent of Ramen Noodles (another favorite of the time). You could get a ton of both, for about 14 cents.

Shoot, with all of that hair, maybe I should do like other Realtors, and use a 12 year old picture on my marketing pieces. Well, maybe not….

GO VOTE, COLUMBIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gergel vs. Boyer – Rickenmann vs. Runyon – Beer and Liquor on Sundays…I don’t have time to elaborate my thoughts regarding who I think should serve Columbia on City Council. After a church playoff basketball game (we won) at 8, a fantasy baseball draft from 9 – 11:30 and after getting home from driving around with a buddy that was hanging political signs around 2 a.m., I think I’m done for the night.

On Tuesday many of you get to vote for who will serve on Columbia’s City Council. If you live in Columbia’s city limits, you will vote in the “at-large” election, which has Cameron Runyon, challenging incumbent Daniel Rickenmann. If you live in Columbia’s District 3, you get to decide between Brian Boyer and Belinda Gergel. Both races have candidates that are really going for it.

You will also be asked if you think that Columbia should allow beer/liquor sales on Sunday. This subject may carry the day, as it may lure more pushed buttons or more “chad hangers” than the council races.

Either way, GO VOTE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another King’s Grant Home is For Sale

5 Trimblestone: At first stop sign, take right. Trimblstone is the 3rd or 4th cul-de-sac, on the right hand side…

This King’s Grant home is roughly 3,000 sq. ft. It is one level (except for the FROG), and is red brick.

It is offered for around $500,000. More details to follow…

Are You Kidding???

Dolla’ Bills, Yall….
If this picture is really a Clemson football player/recruit, this guy makes Garcia look smart. Well, maybe not smart, but at least Garcia just took himself down and maybe a local buzz….but this guy may be ruining a program.

This is a Post from an SC political blog. No way this guy is this dumb, and can Bowden be this careless/wreckless? Really? FJ
NEW TIGER FOOTBALL RECRUIT HAS SOME EXPLAINING TO DO

FITSNews – March 28, 2008 – We honestly haven’t seen a wad of bills that thick since the last time we looked at the special interest stash of House Speaker Bobby Harrell, who defended Clemson University the other day for nearly tripling its tuition over the last seven years while keeping a $140 million slush fund hidden from the legislature.

We were wondering what Clemson was going to do with all that money, and according to the website Brahsome, we may now have an answer. Brahsome was just one of several websites (including FITSNews) to obtain a picture of new Clemson football recruit Kenneth Page holding a wad of “straight from the bank” twenty dollar bills.

Page, who chose Clemson over North Carolina last month, posted the image to his MySpace homepage earlier this week but apparently it ”came down about as quickly as it went up.” Which makes it not unlike Clemson’s credibility lately.

Look, people. Either this 17-year-old kid has been washing a lot of cars this month (like, several thousand of them) or Clemson just got busted paying one of its “student-athletes” under the table …

Britney Spears, Gamecock Style…

Are We Witnessing Another Waste of Time, Talents and Treasures?

At the moment, I don’t have time to throw much of a comment on this subject. I have to say though, a lot of wind was just taken out of the 2008 season’s sails. With last year’s 0-6 debacle, Garcia was the only positive buzz within GamecockNation. Now, I think most folks will expect a season not unlike 2007…

If we can win in the first part of the season (don’t forget UGA), maybe Garcia will be ready for the hell, that is the last five games. I would hate for my first start to be against LSU…

Instead of bringing us the flair of Steve Tanneyhill, Garcia seems to be seeking the same legacy’s of Demetrius Summers and Derek Watson….which went up in “smoke”. For now, everyone needs to keep their 90’s “Tanney’Tails,” in the box..

On a real estate note, the Condo/Parking Spot Values around Williams-Brice, just took a dip….
