Most of my friends and regular readers of this blog know I like to stay abreast of state policy and local level politics. However, when I type about policy or politics, I try to stay as unbiased as possible for obvious reasons. Not tonight.
This Tuesday, from 7 to 7, Richland County voters need to go to the polls and push the button for David Adams.
David, a graduate of The Citadel, is a great husband to his wife Pamela (she will tell you this), top shelf dad to three awesome kids, and hard working all around person.
Since we all know a worthy spouse and good dad or two (even I like to think I’m OK), I’ll break it down better as it relates to this post. David Adams is a leader among other elected officials at this position, and an innovator of the office.
Example one; Late last year he was unanimously elected president of the S.C. Auditors, Treasurers, and Tax Collectors. He’ll take over in April 2015, becoming the first Richland County official to be an officer of SCATT since 1998.
As you can see, David’s professional peers realize how good he is. Now it’s Richland county’s turn to vote for David.
Why do I care so much? Honestly, David is one of my best friends. Second, for readers of this blog who would like to know more than the ‘he’s my friend stuff,’ there aren’t many facets more important to a real estate transaction than property taxes. That said, David has been a portal of information and action as it relates to property taxes and the impact it has on the real estate profession, county, and state.
Here’s an endorsement that will speak volumes; I think the Central Carolina REALTORS Association has given the maximum contribution amount for this office to David. This is a big deal, to be sure.
If you’re a Richland County Democrat, go vote for David. If you’re a Richland County Republican and your candidates look to be safe through the primary season, perhaps you should crossover for a round and vote for David.
Richland is lucky to have David Adams, and its up to us to keep him in this position. Tuesday is the day.
Thank you!
Franklin Jones
